The truck life chose me. Yay Nebraska.

That blue and black truck looks like every truck my dad ever owned.

I love those square body Chevys.
Too bad there’s some weird lifted hatchback thing blocking my view of the blue and black one :)

Is this a real-life parking lot? I’ve never seen more than 2 pick-ups together where I live.

This is very real... for a second I thought it might be my old high school parking lot, because that’s what it always looked like. All the farm kids parked their trucks along the back row.

you must live somewhere either not American or very urban/civilized. If I ever saw a parking lot without a pickup in it, I would find it odd. Normally I see them in spots labeled "compact only" and chuckle.

I do indeed, whenever I see them I wonder if they are countryside people or someone with small penises.

My university parking lot is full of small compacts and Jettas

Interesting you should say that, as these trucks all belong to shop students.
As for the one that isn’t a truck, well, it belongs to someone who...wait for it...

Yup. That’s Nebraska for you. And this is supposed to be one of the snooty urban schools.

Which school?

I’m waiting ........
No surprise that they’re shop students. It was pretty much the same thing when I taught auto shop in a rural town years ago.

This is the United States of Pickup Trucks.
The parking lot of my school is weird, because mine is the only pickup truck in the lot. That is very weird around here.

Urbana High in Ijamsville, Maryland (near Frederick, 45 mins northwest of Washington, DC).
It doesn’t look exactly like my old school’s parking lot, I don’t think there were any homes that close, I just meant how we had a whole group of kids who all parked their trucks like that across the back of the parking lot.

I could see the draw of having a truck. You can carry so much stuff, tow things, and all that torque. But I could never picture daily driving one, I don’t even like how large mid-sized sedans are on the road much less a truck. I feel like given the required choice between a full sized car and a truck though, I would probably rather just have a truck.

I fully understand the use of a truck when you need to haul things around, but in a big city with small parking spaces I’m not sure why someone would need one. Also, buying it for just driving around does not make sense in my mind.

...isn’t a shop student.

Oh ok.
Yeah it seems to be a universal truck thing.

I think the key point is the word "need". I definitely don't "need" an aftermarket exhaust or summer tires, but I surely want those things!

Yeah, it’s truck life, bro.

Oh ... that was anticlimactic.

I live in Alabama, and even I’ve never seen this many pickup trucks in one place.

I’ve met the owner and see him around often (obviously). It’s my understanding that he finally took the confederate flag off his truck because people really started getting pissed about it. Even with that aside, he’s kind of a dick.
